Property storms up the charts in November
November saw the Property sector continue to climb the ranks to finish as the 4th highest sector according to the latest sales chart by Cofunds, the independent platform for financial planning.
Property accounted for five funds inside the top 50 and three inside the top 20 (Aviva Investors Property Trust, M&G Property Portfolio A Fund and SWIP Property Trust) last month. The net figures are especially impressive for Property as outflows have also slowed down, securing the sector 7% of net sales as well as jumping three places up the charts since October to finish 4th.
Cautious Managed continued to hold on to the top spot taking close to a quarter of net sales with Corporate Bonds trailing behind in second place.
November was also a good month for Global Emerging Markets (GEM) and Asia Pacific which have both continued to grow throughout the month.
Michelle Woodburn, Business Development Manager – Fund Managers at Cofunds said: “The story for November as previously predicted was the re-emergence and consolidation of the Property sector into the top selling funds chart. Despite Cautious Managed still attracting the majority of sales, November was also a great month for GEM and Asia Pacific, which in total accounted for an impressive 4-5% of net sales. Looking to next year we expect to see Europe come into its own and maintain its net positive inflow.”
