MRM hires Investment Week’s Paler
MRM, the award-winning financial services communications consultancy, has hired Investment Week’s news editor Nick Paler as a Consultant.
Nick, who has been at Incisive Media’s flagship title since 2011, has more than eight years’ experience writing about financial services, having started at Professional Adviser in 2006. He subsequently spent four years working at Citywire across titles including New Model Adviser, before moving to Investment Week.
Nick has won a number of awards in his career and was voted Platform Journalist of the Year at the Aberdeen UK Platform Awards this week – the second consecutive year he has won this award. In May this year he was named Headlinemoney’s Investment Journalist of the Year (B2B).
As well as writing for a number of trade titles, Nick has also freelanced for the national press, with his work appearing in the money pages of the Independent and The Sunday Times.
Nick joins MRM in November and will work across a number of accounts.
Nick’s appointment follows the recent launch of MRM’s full-service public affairs division, headed by Havard Hughes, who joined the business in August from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Commenting on Nick’s appointment, MRM director Chris Duncan said: “Nick brings with him a wealth of experience in financial services journalism and he will be a valuable addition to MRM as we continue to evolve and grow the business. As a consultancy we understand the importance of high quality content and Nick’s knowledge and ability to write engaging and technical copy will enhance our resource in an area of increasing emphasis for clients.”
Nick said: “I’m really looking forward to joining MRM and helping the business continue to thrive as the industry works through fresh challenges post-RDR and adapts to the changing media landscape.”
