Kames Capital appoints David Ennett to High Yield Team
Kames Capital has recruited David Ennett to lead its multi-award winning High Yield team.*
Ennett joins Kames from Standard Life Investments where he was head of European High Yield and manager of the SLI Higher Income and European High Yield Funds.
Reporting to Kames head of fixed income David Roberts, he will join the business in September 2016 as head of Kames’ award winning high yield team and will also be co-manager of the Kames High Yield Bond and the Kames High Yield Global Bond Funds alongside current co-manager Phil Milburn who will be returning to Kames in Q3 2016 following his period of absence due to ill health.**
In the interim David Roberts will be responsible for Kames’ high yield funds supported by Stephen Baines. Current co-manager Claire McGuckin has left the business.
Roberts says: ‘David is very experienced in the high yield market and we believe his investment philosophy is very much in line with that of Kames Capital. He will be an excellent fit for the business and both Phil and I are looking forward to working with him on his arrival.
‘I am also delighted Phil will be returning to the business in H2 after his period of absence. He will return as head of investment strategy, working with David to shape our high yield propositions and continuing to be the lead manager on both our wholesale high yield funds as well as his role as co-manager on both our strategic bond funds.’
The multi-award winning Kames High Yield Bond Fund is currently ranked first quartile over five and 10 years, while the equally multi-award winning Kames High Yield Global Bond Fund is ranked first quartile over three and five years.***
