Kames adds to Active Value property team
Kames Capital has strengthened its property team with the appointment of Rachel Robinson as a senior asset manager. She will report into Philip Bach, head of active value property at Kames.
Robinson joins Kames from Aviva Investors where she was an asset manager in the High Street Retail and Shopping Centre team, working on the identification and implementation of strategic retail asset management initiatives. Before Aviva, Robinson was a property manager at Rubicon Retail and senior asset manager at Chartwell Land.
As a senior asset manager at Kames, Robinson will support the company’s active value strategies. In July 2016, Kames launched a second version of its closed-ended Active Value property fund, following the success of its first, the UK Active Value Property Unit Trust, which raised £275 million.
Commenting on the appointment, Bach said: “We believe that there is considerable opportunity to buy good quality secondary assets within the £5m to £15m price bracket, outside of the London and certain South East hotspots.
“Capitalising on the opportunities these properties present requires considerable skill and resource. Rachel’s appointment further bolsters our team and her expertise will enhance our capacity to maximise their performance.”
