Boris Johnson and Angela Jones-Evans visit Target Group’s Newport headquarters
Target Group, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and operational transformation provider, has today welcomed Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson to its headquarters in Newport. The Foreign Secretary visited the successful South Wales based business with the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Newport West, Angela Jones-Evans.
Target Group is a significant South Wales success story employing over 1,000 people in the region and posting four consecutive years of strong growth. The last financial year was a milestone one for Target which saw the company acquired by the global multi-national specialist in digital transformation Tech Mahindra in August 2016. The deal marks the start of a new and exciting phase in its development.
Target Group already assists several large organisations across the public and private sector. The likes of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Shawbrook Bank are clients and in 2016 it was chosen by the DVLA to continue revolutionising the way customers pay their vehicle tax. The firm’s latest results are due out shortly and will show strong progress this financial year with significant increases in both turnover and EBITDA and further growth is forecast in the coming years.
Bill Alley, co-Group CEO at Target Group, said: “We were delighted to host the Foreign Secretary and the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Newport West today. The visit is recognition of the continued success of the company and the contribution Target Group has made to Wales and the wider UK economy. The fact that such a high profile government figure is keen to learn more about what we do is testament to the growth of the company and the hard work, dedication and talent of our staff as they make that success possible.”
Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs and parliamentary candidate for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, said: “Target Group is a great example of global Britain and what can be achieved by bringing together like-minded and hardworking individuals. The company has grown exponentially over the years and it is great to see it now develop an international footprint following its acquisition by Tech Mahindra. I have no doubt it will continue going from strength to strength in the years ahead.”
Angela Jones-Evans, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Newport West says:
“Target Group has made an invaluable contribution to the local economy in South Wales. It has created numerous jobs and been a great example of what can be achieved if an organisation commits itself to the area and its people. We are delighted they are here and wish them every success in the future.”
