P-Solve expands DC Investment Consulting Team
P-Solve, the fiduciary manager and investment consultant, has appointed Damon Hopkins as Associate Director.
Formerly of Willis Towers Watson, Hopkins joins P-Solve’s award winning DC Investment Consulting practice in order to support the team’s continuing growth. In his new role he will report to Ajeet Manjrekar, co-Head of P-Solve, and help ensure the business remains at the forefront of innovation within the DC market.
P-Solve, whose client base includes both DC and DB pension schemes, as well as insurance companies, is one of the pioneers in the DC market, having launched a fiduciary management service to DC schemes in 2011. The business also ensures its focus remains on the long-term when it comes to returns for schemes, with a move away from “point to point” investment returns over discrete periods.
At Willis Towers Watson, Hopkins advised trustee and corporate clients on a broad spectrum of DC issues, from scheme design to investment strategies. During his extensive career he also led a number of business development initiatives at companies including Mercer and JLT Benefits Solutions.
Commenting on his appointment, Hopkins said: “It’s a great time to be joining P-Solve. The DC world is evolving very quickly, particularly since the introduction of ‘freedom and choice’, and P-Solve recognises the inevitable challenges facing employers and trustees. I look forward to being able to contribute to the solutions needed to overcome these and help grow an already successful business.”
Ajeet Manjrekar, co-Head of P-Solve, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Damon aboard. He brings a wealth of experience and is a great fit within our DC team, with an in-depth understanding of the evolving needs of DC schemes, and a great focus on delivering excellent client service.
“We have been providing investment advice to DC clients for over 15 years now, winning several awards for our innovation. We were pioneers in offering fiduciary management solutions to DC, having now delivered over five years of excellent investment performance, and Damon’s appointment reflects our determination to ensure we maintain the capability to respond to the future needs of our clients.”
