Thesis adds to Guildford branch with new office director
Thesis Asset Management has hired Jem Turrell as the Office Director and Investment Manager, as part of its plan to build on the growth the business has achieved within the last year.
Turrell, who has more than 25 years’ of wealth management experience, joins Thesis from Standard Life Wealth where he was a Senior Client Portfolio Manager for five years. Prior to that Turrell worked in a number of client facing roles, including at Towry, Lloyds Banking Group and Natwest.
A former member of the armed forces, Turrell will assume responsibility for the management of client assets by the investment team at the Guildford office, which currently looks after approximately £120m. He will also help build on the growth of the office, which recently hired Tim Harman from Royal Bank of Canada as an Investment Manager.
Turrell joins the business in a period of growth as it looks to expand following the acquisition of DFM Cambridge Fund Managers in late 2017. The business also recently launched the Managed Income Service for advisers to help clients manage the decumulation phase of their life.
“Jem’s experience in the wealth management sector is going to be a real asset for the business going forward,” said Lawrence Cook, Director of Marketing and Business Development. “He joins at what is an exciting time for Thesis and we believe he has the skillset to help the business continue on its growth trajectory. We are delighted someone of this calibre is joining the business and I am sure he will do a great job with the team at the Guildford office.”
Turrell added: “It is really exciting to be joining a company such as Thesis as it continues to innovate and grow. Thesis has great relationships with its clients and advisers and is well known as one of the leading firms in the discretionary investment space. I’m looking forward to leading the team at the Guildford office and to help clients around the UK better manage their finances.
