Spotlight on asset allocation at PLATFORM
Asset allocation and its significance in portfolio construction should not be underestimated according to Cofunds, the leading independent platform for financial planning.
Whether advisers are using a top down or a bottom up approach, finding the most appropriate asset allocation to meet a client’s investment goals is a key concern for many advisers. Due to its importance, Cofunds is making this topic the focus of its summer PLATFORM conference, in Harrogate on the 9th June.
By posing the topic ‘asset allocation: the key to successful portfolio construction’, Cofunds is giving advisers the opportunity to hear a range of expert views on the science and art of asset allocation, while keeping in mind the crucial end result of obtaining the best possible mix for an investor’s individual risk profile. The conference will include key speakers such as Gillian Hutchison from OBSR who will be analysing current market trends, and Tony Wickenden from Technical Connection who will explore the post-election tax opportunities for advisers and their clients.
Alastair Conway, Sales & Marketing Director at Cofunds said: “Advisers know better than anyone that clients are demanding robust financial plans that will carry them all the way into retirement, so finding the right balance of assets is key. The conference will provide advisers with the latest tips and opinions on the role of asset allocation in portfolio planning, along with how it has evolved over the years and the undisputable benefits of investing for the long-term, not just the short.”
Advisers will also have the opportunity to attend a workshop, run by Distribution Technology, on how to get the most out of Cofunds’ newly launched financial planning tools.
Other speakers at the event will include independent views from Guido Stiel, Allianz Global Investors; Ian Spreadbury, Fidelity International; Anthony Cross, Liontrust Asset Management; Felix Wintle, Neptune Investment Management; Don Jordison, Threadneedle and Tom Caddick, LV= Asset Management.
