Oil be the judge of that – those Friday links in full
In an alternative space and time, packaging has rock all to do with mortgages. Who’d have thought it, eh? Now we know ‘our’ packaging and packagers are the epitome of cool and funky so it’s a little embarrassing really to see this lot try to compete but god love ‘em for trying.
Back in that other worldly place, we hear tell that there’s no catastrophically large, seemingly un-pluggable oil leak threatening the ecological balance of vast swathes of the Gulf of Mexico and beyond or looming menacingly over BP’s balance sheet and in the process giving UK pensions a right pasting. Would that we could say the same for this mortgage-related packager world, but hey-ho.
As it is, the oil it is a gushing and the people they are revolting. Like this fella Leroy Stick, the man behind @BPGlobalPR, who has set up his own bogus PR for BP in protest at what he calls BP’s ‘trashing of the ocean’, which he is returning in kind by sticking the boot into the global energy company’s efforts to-date to PR its way out of trouble. Check out his efforts here, hmmm…
And if you like us, just can’t get your head around the scale of the oil spill, you can always give it some perspective by overlaying it on your home town by typing in your address here. Yowzers!
But it’ not all doom and gloom, as these rather splendid mash-up film posters attest, courtesy of The Huffington Post. The ET/Alien hybrid is MRM’s particular favourite – we wonder if you call home first that they would infact be able to hear you scream in space afterall?
