MRM’s ace content duo takes on editor roles at Mouthy Money
MRM’s content powerhouse, Ed Greaves and Paul Thomas (PT), are taking on joint editor roles at Mouthy Money, the website that showcases real people sharing real stories about the money in their pocket. The pair are no strangers to the editor’s chair, as Greaves was the former deputy editor of Moneywise, while Thomas was editor of Mortgage Strategy before moving to business and personal finance reporter for the Daily Mail.
Mouthy Money features a wide range of contributors, from bloggers to ordinary consumers, talking about money topics that really matter to them, whether it’s a business-owner struggling through lockdown or a furloughed worker looking to make extra cash.
Greaves explains: “So many people have seen their salaries cut because of the coronavirus outbreak, while prices in the shops are rising and any savings they have are shrinking. What we want to do is tell their stories and share their experiences, hopefully giving other readers some useful hints and tips along the way.”
According to Thomas, Mouthy Money is the antidote to websites and newspapers full of experts dispensing advice. He explains: “Many people switch off when the conversation turns to things like mortgages and ISAs. But the reality is that everyone is obsessed with money – how much they have and how to get a good deal. Mouthy Money is all about bringing together real people to tell real stories about what they do with their money.”
Mouthy Money is on the lookout for stories and blogs from people who don’t have a huge amount of experience with money or writing, whether it’s first time buyers telling the story of getting their own home, or frugal shoppers sharing their simple tips for living on a budget.
