Mouthy Money expands editorial team with appointment of new reporter
Mouthy Money, the personal finance website that showcases real people with real stories about their money, has appointed Dana Raer as a full-time reporter.
Raer has been working as a freelance journalist for the past year since graduating from Sheffield University with a BA Honours in Journalism.
During this time, she has held roles as an editorial assistant for The Times Money Mentor and as a junior researcher for BBC Culture.
She has also contributed stories to PA Media, The Evening Standard and The i Newspaper.
In her new position as Mouthy Money reporter, Raer will be responsible for producing daily news stories, sourcing and interviewing real-life case studies and also helping to grow the site’s network of bloggers. Raer will also be helping to launch a brand new weekly Mouthy Money newsletter.
Raer will report into co-editors Edmund Greaves and Paul Thomas as they look to expand Mouthy Money’s online presence and build Mouthy Money’s reputation for top personal finance news, stories and information.
Commenting on her appointment, Dana Raer says: “I am very happy to be joining Mouthy Money and look forward to working closely with Edmund and Paul to help grow the site.
“There are so many young people eager to learn more about personal finance. Be it saving, investing, mortgages or even pensions, they want access to easy-to-grasp information that doesn’t preach, but informs by example.
“Too often personal finance information just caters to homeowners and people in retirement, so it’s brilliant to be involved with an outlet that is engaging a younger audience and helping them to learn more about money.
“I can’t wait to get out there and start finding some brilliant stories to share with our readers.”
Edmund Greaves, Mouthy Money co-editor, says: “Dana is a very talented and ambitious young reporter who has all the qualities needed to lead a very successful career in the industry.
“She has quickly developed a huge amount of experience at some fantastic outlets, which will add valuable reporting and feature pieces to Mouthy Money’s already excellent stable of contributors. We are also excited to be launching a weekly newsletter to which Dana will be one of the key contributors.
“I have no doubt she will be a great addition to the team and can’t wait to share some of her work with our audience.”
