Ignis appoints Grant Peterkin as senior fund manager
Ignis Asset Management has appointed Grant Peterkin to the position of senior fund manager in its Rates Team.
Joining in April 2011, Grant will advise across all portfolios run by the Glasgow-based Rates Team, which manages in excess of £28 billion on behalf of institutional investors.
Reporting to Russ Oxley, Head of Rates, Grant joins from Citigroup Sydney where, as a director, he managed the bank’s Australian liquid asset portfolio using a range of fixed income bond and derivative products. He also assisted in the direction and oversight of strategy across the risk treasury Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to working for Citigroup in Australia, Grant was an investment director at Standard Life Investments in Edinburgh, where he was an active manager of sovereign bond funds using global alpha strategies.
Grant will work alongside Stuart Thomson, Ignis’ Chief Market Economist.
Commenting, Russ Oxley says: “Grant brings with him strong global economic analysis and technical skills and his ability to trade efficiently in derivative products within the fund management space will be a great asset to the Rates Team.”
Grant Peterkin comments: “The Rates Team has enjoyed considerable success over the last few years and I am looking forward to joining at what is an exciting time both for the team and for the wider business.”
