Crazy writers and Lost in 108 seconds – what more could you want from this week’s Friday links?
So just two short weeks after our election we finally have our new government all in place, the sun is shining and the first barbeque weekend of the year is within sight. Brits literally have nothing to complain about, which will come as a bit of a shock as everyone knows that complaining is what we do best.
Or is it? According to this fabulous infographic, we are actually best at CCTV with our friends over in Ireland being best for quality of life, lucky things. And taking this graph as Gospel truth, us MRM-ers are packing our bags and scattering across the globe to wherever we feel suits us best – Czech Republic is looking like the favourite so far!
Japan is apparently best for robots but it is also well-known for its art and we particularly like this fusion of Japanese feudal art and the characters from Star Wars. This is impossibly geeky, but also very clever and imaginative.
Also quite geeky but fun is this quiz to find out which crazy writer you are. Results show that Thomas Pynchon is posing as a consultant at MRM HQ. We all had our suspicions…
Looking forward to the next week and TV fans have to cope with the loss of two of the most popular shows in recent years – Ashes to Ashes and Lost. And while Ashes to Ashes has been a tad confusing at times, we defy even the most die-hard Lost fan to admit that they have followed everything that has happened over the last four series. For those needing a little refresher ahead of the finale, this handy video should do the trick – the entire history of the show in 108 seconds. Enjoy! (Disclaimer: this video is aimed at the aforementioned die-hard fans. Those who have not watched the show and want to know what the fuss is about will genuinely not have a clue what is going on. You have been warned!)
