MRM appoints Jemal to drive mutual connections
As part of its continued expansion, MRM Public and Regulatory Affairs has appointed Jansev Jemal to bolster its consultancy proposition as well as its co-operative and mutual finance sector connections. This takes the team to its largest size to date since the foundation of the division less than a year ago.
The appointment sees MRM Public and Regulatory Affairs build on its expertise in mutuals and ethical finance. The division has already worked with Generation Rent and the Association of Financial Mutuals as well as with the Building Societies Association.
Jemal will focus on client relations and business development, building on her background in market research. She formerly worked for YouGov and Ipsos Mori after being awarded a PhD on voter behaviour from the University of Essex. Jansev is also a Labour Party councillor in the London Borough of Enfield. She joins MRM from parliament, having worked for Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury Alison McGovern MP and Labour/Co-operative MP John Woodcock.
Havard Hughes, MRM’s Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs commented:
“With the financial sector moving slowly from the shadow of the Great Recession the focus is on new business models and ethical finance. We foresee the growth of new financial services firms with customer centred business models as key to the future of the industry. With her experience of market research Jemal will be a key addition to the team working to deliver our cutting edge consultancy services to clients.”
Jansev Jemal commented:
“I am delighted to be joining the Public and Regulatory Affairs team at MRM. The government’s narrow majority and controversial legislative programme make this a truly exciting time with much scope for influencing policy-making. As we head into the maelstrom of a Euro referendum the future of London as a financial services centre will be at risk. There has never been a more crucial time in financial services policy nor a greater opportunity to reshape the industry.”
