Who’s feeling charitable this season?
It’s been an interesting turn of events in the mid-week money section tallies this week, as the consistent underdog made a sharp turn to claim the ‘highest gain’ title.
Since our tallies began, charity stories have never featured in a mid-week money section – until now, shooting up 12% this week.
Money Mail launched into the season of goodwill with a story on the best ways to give back this Christmas, from setting up a regular donation to volunteering. Lauren Thompson made sure to point out that the first rule when giving to charity is to always use Gift Aid. Emma Simon (@SimpleSimonEmma) in The Telegraph highlighted that Charities Aid Foundation estimates charities are losing out on £750m a year due to donors not ticking the Gift Aid box.
If like MRM HQ however you like the odd grumble amongst all the festive cheer – and let’s be honest, who doesn’t – voting begins today for the third annual Money Mail Wooden Spoon Awards, awarded for bad customer service.
