Barclays Wealth reissues UK Accumulator
Barclays Wealth has reissued its UK Accumulator, following a successful first launch. This six-year investment offers investors 100% of the rise in the Index up to a maximum return of 60%, with gains locked-in for every 15% rise in the FTSE 100 during the term.
For example, if the Index rises by 15% from its starting level at any time, the Accumulator will automatically lock-in a 15% return. If the FTSE 100 were to rise by another 15% from its starting level, a 30% return will be lock-in, and so on up to a potential maximum payout of 60%.
The Accumulator also ensures a full repayment of capital at maturity, as soon as the first lock-in level of 15% level is achieved. Before this point, capital would be at risk if Index fell by more than 50% from its starting level and remained below this level at maturity. Should this occur – and the Index had not risen by 15% or more at any stage – capital repayment will be reduced by the percentage by which the Index had fallen.

Lisa Chaudhuri, manager, Barclays Wealth, says: “Concerns around market timing and risk remain at the forefront of investors’ minds. By locking-in gains while remaining exposed to future growth potential, the Accumulator essentially mitigates timing risk. What’s more investors will also see their capital returned in full should the Accumulator reaches its first lock-in point.”
