Corporate Bonds top the sales charts
Corporate Bonds dominated sales in August, with placings in the top four selling sectors for wealth managers, execution only and product providers, as indicated by the most recent sales breakdown from Cofunds’ institutional service.
Wealth managers and product providers (namely underlying collectives supporting pension, bond and SIPP wrappers) both strongly favoured Corporate Bonds placing them as the highest selling sector. Corporate Bonds were also popular with execution only clients and finished the month as the fourth highest selling sector. Strategic Bonds were the second most popular sector for both wealth managers and execution only clients.
Meanwhile execution only clients looked further afield to Global Bonds and Global Emerging Markets which took third and fifth spots as highest selling sectors, respectively.
Christopher James, Director, Institutional Services at Cofunds said: “August saw both Corporate and Strategic Bonds establish themselves in all three client bases, with L&G Dynamic Bond and M&G Strategic Corporate Bond leading the way for wealth managers and product providers respectively.
“Execution only clients also favoured a global outlook along with Strategic and Corporate Bonds. Both Global Bonds and Global Emerging Markets proved popular sectors with First State Indian Subcontinent and Aberdeen Emerging Markets dominating as second and fourth highest selling funds in this client base.”
