F&C’s Neilson joins Nucleus as Business Development Chief
Nucleus, the IFA owned and controlled wrap proposition, is delighted to announce Barry Neilson as its new Business Development Director, effective immediately.
Prior to his appointment Neilson worked at F&C Investments as Director of Business Development, a role he has held for the past five years. During his tenure Neilson was responsible for the management of F&C’s business development proposition across investment IFAs, national distributors, private client managers, life companies and platforms.
In his new role Neilson will be responsible for leading the business development team which has seen more than 60 IFA firms become owner-users of the platform since inception. As a member of the executive team, he will report directly to Ferguson and will have overall responsibility for the business development and account management functions as well as the wider strategic development of the company.
Commenting on the appointment David Ferguson said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Barry to the Nucleus team. With 2010 shaping up to be a pivotal year for the platform industry his knowledge and understanding of the IFA market will be of tremendous benefit to the business and our member firms as we look to accelerate our growth and development. This also completes the executive team with a view to building on our momentum as we approach break-even and continue to grow our market share.”
Neilson added:
“I’m very much looking forward to joining Nucleus at what is a tremendously exciting time for both the business and the wider financial services industry. What David and the team have done in the platform space over the past three years, and the way that they have done it, has been nothing short of ground-breaking and to be presented with the opportunity of playing a significant role in the future success of the business was something I wasn’t prepared to let pass.“
