Floreat further strengthens aviation finance capability with appointment of Phil Griffiths
Floreat has today announced the appointment of Phil Griffiths as Managing Director within Floreat Aviation Capital Limited, the specialist aircraft leasing investment arm of Floreat.
Phil brings extensive experience in the aviation sector, having closed over $10bn in aircraft finance and leasing transactions since 2003. He joins from DAE Capital, where he headed the company’s corporate finance and capital markets team. Prior to this he held various senior roles at AWAS, PK AirFinance, Rolls-Royce Capital and Airbus.
Floreat, which specialises in investments in public and private equity, real estate and private debt, is an active investor in commercial aircraft-backed assets. The firm has been investing in aircraft assets since 2015 and is committed to deploying further capital into this asset class.
Floreat is committed to growing its aviation finance investment team and continues to engage with leading global aircraft lessors and investment banks to source attractive aircraft-backed investment opportunities. They are committed to being one of the leading specialist aircraft-backed investment businesses in Europe.
Commenting on the news, Mark Rogers, Managing Director at Floreat said: “We are delighted to have someone of Phil’s experience and network join us as we look to increase our footprint in this market. Investors are increasingly looking for ways to diversify away from traditional bonds or equities, and innovative real-asset structures, such as those backed by commercial aircraft, are helping meet their demands.”
Phil Griffiths commented: “Floreat is establishing itself as a leading player in what is becoming an increasingly mainstream sector for UK private and institutional investors. I’m excited to be joining at this time of growth and working closely with Mark and the team to continue to provide clients with access to attractive risk-adjusted and uncorrelated returns.”
