O’Sullivan appointed Head of Investment Consulting as Bennett joins Board
Redington, the leading independent investment consultant, has promoted Patrick O’Sullivan to head up its investment consultancy proposition as the business continues to develop and grow under the leadership of CEO Mitesh Sheth.
Patrick joined Redington in 2012 having held positions at Watson Wyatt and Prisma Capital Partners. During his time at Redington, he has played a number of important roles within the investment consulting team as a lead consultant and has had an instrumental impact on the development and diversification of the business including his work helping Redington launch its Defined Contribution (DC) proposition.
In his new role Patrick will focus on continuing to integrate Redington’s efforts across investment, risk management and DC propositions. As part of this he will work closely with the recently appointed CTO, Adam Jones, to ensure leading edge technology and digital innovation play a central role in transforming how the business operates and helps clients make better and more timely decisions.
The promotion follows the decision to invite current head of investment consulting, David Bennett, to take up a newly created executive position on Redington’s Board. One of the industry’s most experienced and respected individuals, David joined Redington in 2010 and went on to take over the running of the investment consultancy business from Co-founder Robert Gardner in 2013.
A key focus for David in his expanded role will be to ensure Redington’s digital innovation agenda continues to play a central role in the future growth and development of the business and its mission to make 100 million people financially secure.
The business is actively seeking an external candidate to fill a second newly created non-executive Board position.
Commenting on the appointment Mitesh Sheth, CEO, Redington said: “David and Patrick have had significant impacts on both the business and those who have been fortunate to work with them over the years. The changes we have made to their roles go some way to recognising that impact, while also ensuring the business is in the best possible position to make the very most of their skills, experience and passion for delivering the best possible solutions and outcomes for clients.”
Patrick said: “It is a real honour to take over the running of the investment consulting team from David. In the five years he has been at the helm he has developed an incredible team of talented consultants and led our clients to improved levels of financial security. He has helped Redington achieve a leading market position and reputation for exceptional client service. My challenge is to build on that legacy, harnessing our world class manager research, risk analytics and technology to help our pension scheme clients make the big decisions that can ultimately improve the financial security of their members.”
