Institutional money continues to favour global arenas in September
Global sectors continued to hold sway for a second month with both wealth managers and execution only clients drawn to funds with a wider reach, according to the latest sales breakdown from Cofunds’ institutional service.
Asia Pacific Ex Japan also proved a popular sector with wealth managers and execution only clients, finishing September as the top selling sector for wealth managers and the third highest selling sector for execution only clients.
Product providers (namely underlying collectives supporting pension, bond and SIPP wrappers) favoured Corporate Bonds along with diversified funds (Balanced and Cautious Managed sectors). M&G Strategic Corporate Bonds and Jupiter Merlin Income Portfolio were the highest selling funds with this client group.
Christopher James, Director, Institutional Services at Cofunds said: “September saw a continuing trend where Asia Pacific Ex Japan, Global Growth and Global Emerging Markets continued to perform well with our wealth manager and execution only clients. Leading the way were Aberdeen Asia Pacific and First State Indian Subcontinent which came in as the highest selling funds for these client groups respectively. Product providers saw M&G Strategic Corporate Bond and M&G High Yield Corporate Bond as their bond funds of choice on the platform as they finished first and fourth highest in September.”
