Kames strengthens institutional sales team

London – Kames Capital has appointed Sam Berman as institutional business development manager, with a focus on the insurance sector. Reporting into Jill Johnston, head of UK institutional business at Kames, Berman will be based in the firm’s London office.
Berman has eight years’ industry experience, joining Kames from Amundi, where he was director of institutional business development, focusing on Lloyd’s syndicates, non-life insurers and life assurance firms in the UK and Ireland. Prior to this, he was associate director of UK institutional sales at AXA Investment Managers.
Berman joins the Kames institutional business team, where he will focus on working with existing and prospective insurance clients.
Johnston says: “The insurance market is a key focus for us and Sam’s expertise and experience will allow us to fully service the unique needs of our clients and prospects in this sector.
“We have seen rapid growth across our institutional business, with increasing interest and flows into our broad range of strategies including absolute return, fixed income, high yield bonds, property, global equities and multi-asset.
