Legg Mason Brandywine Global Fixed Income Fund scoops industry award
Legg Mason is celebrating further success after the Legg Mason Brandywine Global Fixed Income fund was awarded the Platinum Award for Developed Market Fixed Income at the Portfolio Adviser Fund Awards 2018.
Managed by David Hoffman, Jack McIntyre, Anujeet Sareen and Stephen Smith, the $1.2bn Legg Mason Brandywine Global Fixed Income fund is driven by a long-term, top-down, value-based approach, with the team investing in global investment grade bonds which they believe offer the best combination of high real yield and attractive fundamentals.
For over two decades, the Global Fixed Income team has delivered its attractive risk-adjusted returns by implementing a process of country rotation through the broad global bonds universe.
At the awards the judging panel, which consisted of 18 of the UK’s leading fund selectors, identified the Brandywine Global Fixed Income fund as one which is best placed among peers to perform over the coming three years, given judge’s view of the world.
Commenting on the award win, Alexander Barry, Head of UK Sales at Legg Mason said:
“This award underlines the consistent performance the team has achieved since the strategy launched nearly twenty years ago. In an increasingly volatile and unpredictable investment environment, the team has demonstrated the endurance of its debt selection strategy, as well as their ability to unlock the benefits of mean-reversion tendencies in interest rates and currency valuations. This is a great achievement and I congratulate the entire team on their continued success.”
