PLATFORM to focus on investment opportunities in 2011
The investment opportunities for the coming year will be at the centre of the latest PLATFORM conference, hosted by Cofunds, the leading independent platform for financial planning.
Taking place in the Forest of Arden, Birmingham on the 10th November, this event will bring together a panel of expert speakers to help advisers consider a range of ideas and options for their clients going into next year.
Speakers include Stuart Rhodes, Manager of the M&G Global Dividend Fund and Theo Zemek, Global Head of Fixed Income at AXA Investment Managers. Theo (winner of the OBSR Outstanding Contributor to the Industry Award 2010) will be highlighting the major influences and opportunities in the bond markets and will show how a disciplined investment process plays an important part in staying ahead of the competition.
Fay Goddard, CEO of The Personal Finance Society, will address professional advice in a post RDR landscape and the opportunities for advisers. Other speakers at the event include Old Broad Street Research (OBSR), M&G, Investec, Aberdeen, Cazenove and Neptune.
OBSR will be running an interactive workshop, talking through how they develop their model portfolios. Cofunds will also be demonstrating how they support model portfolios on the platform, whether they be third party portfolios or those created by the advisers themselves.
Alastair Conway, Sales & Marketing Director at Cofunds said: “With 2011 fast approaching our Winter PLATFORM conference is a great opportunity for advisers to hear about the investment opportunities for the coming year. We hope to enable advisers to get a feel for a wide variety of opportunities such investing globally and the benefits of multi asset funds. For those who would like to learn more about model portfolios, the afternoon workshops by both Cofunds and OBSR will be a great step towards understanding how third parties construct their model portfolios and how platforms can help advisers to manage them effectively.
“For advisers who cannot make it on the day but would like to find out more, we have collated a range of independent views that are available here http://www.cofunds.co.uk/Platform/home.aspx.”
