Psigma takes to the slopes
Championing Charities. Psigma takes to the slopes in support of The Inter–Livery Ski Championships and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal
Psigma is delighted to support the Inter-Livery Ski Championships 2018. The event, which will take place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of January in Morzine, Portes du Soleil, France, is the 9th annual event of its kind.
Founded in 2010 by George Bastin of the Ironmongers’ Company, the Inter-Livery Ski Championships provide the perfect opportunity for liverymen and women to represent their own company in a unique event. There are two days of racing and mingling while enjoying the glorious atmosphere in one of Europe’s most easily accessible ski resorts. As in previous years, the event hopes to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal as well as a number of other smaller charities.
The event comprises two main racing events, the Slalom and the Giant Slalom, taking place on the Thursday and Friday respectively. All Livery Companies are invited to send teams and/or individual members of their Company and their guests to race. So far over 200 participants representing over 30 different livery companies signed up to attend this year’s competition.
Christopher Hudson and George Bastin, Ironmongers and chief organisers of the Annual Inter-Livery Ski Championships said:
“We are delighted to welcome Psigma’s support as principal sponsor to the Annual Inter-Livery Ski Championships, 2018. Now in our 9th year, the competition provides the perfect opportunity for liverymen and women, not always able to be involved in their Company’s affairs, to represent their own company in a unique event held not only outside the Square Mile but even outside their own country.
“Each year funds are raised toward the Lord Mayor’s Fund as well as a number of smaller charities and we are delighted to report a year on year increase in support for the event.
“We appreciate both Psigma’s commitment and personal interest in the Livery community and are pleased to be entering into this sponsorship arrangement with them.”
John Howard-Smith, CEO, Psigma Investment Management said:
“I believe this is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our commitment to providing Livery Companies with investment solutions and the kind of personal service not often afforded by larger institutions and banks. Many of the team here are both trustees and Liverymen making us ideally placed to help the Companies meet their funding objectives for the future.
“In addition to our own charitable giving through the Psigma Foundation, I am also delighted we are able to support the Lord Mayor’s appeal and in particular their new strategy, creating A Better City for All.”
