Strategic Bonds gain favour with wealth managers in February
Wealth managers looked to Strategic Bonds in February with the sector jumping from fourth to first place in the latest sales breakdown from Cofunds’ institutional service.
The Strategic Bond sector has consistently been in the top five selling funds since December when it moved from 14th to second place.
Strategic Bond funds also gained popularity with execution only clients, breaking into the top five, having not featured in the top 10 for January. However, at the top of the table for this client base was UK All Companies which kept its reigning position for a second month.
Product providers (accounting for the underlying collectives within their pension, bond and SIPP wrappers) continued to favour Cautious Managed and Corporate Bonds, while UK All Companies knocked Balanced Managed off its place as third highest selling sector.
Christopher James, Director, Institutional Services at Cofunds said: “Strategic Bond funds continued to find favour with wealth managers last month with Henderson Strategic Bond coming in as the highest selling fund for this client base. The sector also attracted money from execution only clients with Invesco Perpetual Monthly Income fund taking the highest sales in this sector.”
