Daily Mail’s Thomas to join MRM
MRM, the award-winning financial services communications consultancy, has hired The Daily Mail’s Paul Thomas as a Consultant.
As a member of MRM’s news and content team, Paul will help drive production of high-quality content for clients and play an integral role in the continued expansion of MRM’s consumer proposition.
He will work across a range of MRM’s existing clients, which includes Shawbrook Bank, Hometrack, Scottish Friendly and Barclays Wealth & Investments.
Paul, who has been at The Daily Mail since 2016 writing across both its City and Money desks, has eight years’ experience in financial services journalism, having started at Money Marketing in 2010. He also spent four years at Mortgage Strategy, latterly as editor.
Paul has won a number of awards during his career, including being named the Headlinemoney Mortgage Journalist of the Year for three years in a row between 2012 and 2014, and the Headlinemoney Rising Star of the Year (Consumer) in 2017 for his work on Money Mail. The Personal Finance Society also named him National Newspaper Newcomer of the Year in 2017.
Paul’s appointment follows the recent promotion of Chris Tuite to Director and Head of Consumer Finance.
Commenting on Paul’s appointment, Chris Tuite said: “Paul has been delivering high quality journalism for the best part of a decade and has quickly become one of the most recognisable names in the consumer finance media. I am thrilled he will be adding his writing talents and nose for news to the already stellar team we have at MRM.”
Nick Paler, Head of Investment News and Content at MRM, added: “As a consultancy we understand the importance of high quality content and Paul’s expertise and ability to produce engaging and thought-provoking copy will enhance our resource in an area of increasing emphasis for clients.”
Paul Thomas said: “MRM has long recognised the value of producing top quality content and I am delighted to be joining a business which takes this so seriously.”
