Winners of the Kames Capital Journalism Awards revealed
Winners and runners up for the inaugural Kames Capital Journalism Awards have been announced.
At a ceremony held in central London on Wednesday 25th November, a total of seven awards were handed out including four individual journalist awards. The Daily Telegraph’s Kyle Caldwell won in the ‘National Investment Journalist of the Year’ category, with Chris Panteli of Portfolio Institutional taking home the ‘Trade Journalist of the Year (Institutional)’ award. The award for the ‘Trade Journalist of the Year (Wholesale)’ category was won by Portfolio Adviser’s Gary Shepherd, while the award for Freelance Investment Journalist of the Year was presented to Philip Scott.
Runners up in each of the four journalist categories were announced as follows:
- National Investment Journalist of the Year – Judith Evans, Financial Times
- Trade Journalist of the Year (Institutional) – Mark Cobley, Financial News
- Trade Journalist of the Year (Wholesale) – Anna Fedorova, Investment Week
- Freelance Investment Journalist of the Year – Cherry Reynard
Teams whose journalists received the most nominations were also recognised. The ‘Institutional Team of the Year’ award was won by Financial News, while the ‘Wholesale Team of the Year’ was awarded to Investment Week. The Daily Telegraph won in the ‘National Team of the Year’ category.
The Kames Capital Journalism Awards were nominated by a panel of over 30 independent industry experts from across the institutional and wholesale markets.
