WisdomTree appoints head of compliance in Europe

WisdomTree, the exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) and exchange-traded product (“ETP”) sponsor, is pleased to announce the appointment of Altaf Cassam in a newly-created Head of Compliance role at WisdomTree in Europe.
Cassam joins WisdomTree from Aberdeen Asset Management where he was a MiFID II Consultant. He brings almost 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with 10 years’ experience specifically in regulation and compliance. Cassam has held senior positions at Ernst & Young LLP, Pioneer, Threadneedle and Natixis.
Cassam will be based in London and responsible for all European compliance operations. He will report to Bryan Governey, WisdomTree General Counsel in Europe.
