Work completes on Kames owned Lockmeadow, Maidstone
Kames Capital has completed a multi-million pound refurbishment of Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre in Maidstone, Kent.
The renovation of the centre, which Kames Capital acquired in December 2015, included a complete overhaul of the main frontage, improvement to the glazing of the entrance and construction of a new canopy and first floor roof terrace. The external steps were also re-designed to complement the scheme. Internally, the mall areas were also enhanced and modernised.
Current tenants at Lockmeadow include Odeon, Hollywood Bowl, trampoline park operator Gravity, David Lloyd, Frankie & Benny’s, The Feathers and Burger King. In March 2017 it was also announced that Lockmeadow had signed Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), who are now open and trading.
Ric Tsang, assistant fund manager at Kames Capital said: “We’re delighted that the work to renovate and modernise Lockmeadow has been completed. The leisure scheme now offers customers a vibrant, modern space with a wide range of tenants. We look forward to the continuing success of the venue as it goes from strength to strength.”
Richard Lloyd at Lockmeadow said: “Lockmeadow has always been an all-weather leisure facility for the local community and surrounding towns to enjoy. It was important to us that during the design phase we created a usable space for our tenants and customers. This has resulted in enhanced accessibility to the centre and with new businesses joining us we have ensured that customers of all age groups have been catered for. The refurbishment has resulted in a fresh, modern look & feel and is the place to go in Maidstone”
